Sezession

The Secession style of the first two decades of history celebrated on the B114, customized by Unexpected Custom, is not the floral and spring-like style of Alfons Mucha's posters. It resembles more the memory of an architecture, visual fragments of buildings seen on different journeys, far and near, in time and space.

In the "sacred spring", Ver Sacrum, the predominant color is blue, alongside gold and violet.
An opalescent violet of a winter sunset.
Green in these shades recalls the oxidation of bronze more than hope.
From the voluptuously lined window "the year was dying, quite gently"...

Yet there is no decadent complacency, no dandy's malady.
Rather Nordic memories or nostalgias.
The golden dome of the Secession Building, the peculiar shapes of Casa Batlló, or the detail of a caryatid on the facade of a building in Riga.

The gray earth of the trenches swallows the lightness of the Belle Époque.
The Spanish flu virus infects the survivors.
In Vienna, Egon Schiele portrays his dying wife Edith amidst the spasms of the pandemic that would soon claim him too.

Sarah Bernhardt-style dresses become military uniforms, then blackshirts and brownshirts.
