Das Reich

"Učit'sja, učit'sja i učit'sja", "To study, to study, and to study", as Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, namely comrade Lenin, used to say.
Today, the phrase has taken on the ridiculous tone that all of the Bolshevik leader's maxims share. "Even a cook should learn to run the state", "We must bury all theaters", and so on. In reality, Lenin was quoting Chekhov, specifically from the short story My Life.

The style of this artistic work is too dark to indulge in the detached irony that sometimes comes with temporal distance.

The black and white is reminiscent of Goya's series on war.
The third and gloomiest of all the works is the one about the three totalitarianisms.
Gloomy with an explicit and, if you will, less subtle darkness compared to that of the work on the digital revolution.

The ambiguity, the anamorphism, changes its background and historical framework, but leaves the meaning intact: within the barbed wire of an extermination camp, one can see Christ's crown of thorns.
The ancient Hebrew words of Psalm 23, sung during Shabbat, become the viaticum for the children of the concentration camps: "Even though I walk / through the darkest valley / I will fear no evil, / for You are always with me; / because You are my rod and my staff, / with You I feel at peace."

They would also become a discotheque song in the 1990s, Gam-Gam. A background for unaware dancing and high times.
